How to look good in print
How to look good in print

The most important part of your printing project is the file preparation. To LOOK GOOD in print you must follow some simple guidelines.

Color
Your printed piece may not look exactly like it does on your computer monitor. Computers display full color images in RGB (Red, Green and Blue) while printing presses print full color images in CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow and black).

For full color printing use CMYK colors.

For spot color printing (1, 2, or 3 colors) use the Pantone Matching System (PMS).
Please ask to see our PMS books to select your colors accurately.

Graphics
Please use graphics of 300 dpi or above. Lower resolution images may look fine on screen, but will be fuzzy when printed. If the total of your file transfer is larger than 60 MB, please call before you begin your transfer.

We accept files created in:

  • Adobe Acrobat PDF
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe In Design
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Quark Express
  • Microsoft: Excel
  • Powerpoint
  • Publisher
  • Word
For applications not listed above, please call us at 215-855-6116. Please remember to supply any fonts and graphics used in your file. Missing fonts and graphics may delay your order. To ensure your material travels safely across the internet, please compress your files before sending with a utility tool like Zipit or Stuffit.

Proofread
After your files are submitted, Keeney Printing will supply you with a “proof” prior to printing. The proof should be carefully checked for content, spelling and style before you approve for printing.
